What to do right now

Spills happen. A few right moves now make the cleaning easier later.

  1. Blot, don't scrub. Press a clean white towel on the spill and lift. Scrubbing spreads it and frays the fibers.
  2. Pet urine: skip the peroxide sprays. Store sprays with hydrogen peroxide or "oxy" on the label can bleach a permanent light spot on carpet that old urine has already changed.
  3. Colored stains: stop experimenting. For wine, fruit punch or dye, blot and leave it. Every product you try can set the color further.
  4. Mustard, curry or turmeric: no heat. Use cool water and a little mild detergent. Hot water can set the yellow for good.
  5. Candle wax: let it harden. Scrape off what you can, then lay a plain paper bag over it and press with an iron on low.
  6. Call or text us. Send a photo of the spot and we will tell you what to do next.

Hot water extraction or low-moisture: which one do you use?

We offer both main ways to clean carpet and pick the method by the fiber and how dirty it is.

  • Truck-mounted hot water extraction (often called steam cleaning). Hot water and a cleaning solution go into the carpet, and a powerful vacuum on the truck pulls the water and soil back out, rinsing as it goes. It usually dries in about 1 to 3 hours. It is the pick for heavy soil, gray traffic lanes and pet urine, which needs flushing out.
  • Low-moisture cleaning (VLM, or encapsulation). A solution that traps soil goes on, and a machine with pads lifts the soil out. Very little water goes in, so carpet is usually dry in about 30 minutes to 2 hours. It suits routine cleaning of most synthetic carpet and places that need to be back in use quickly.

Wool gets its own care: as little moisture as the job allows, wool-safe products, a dye test first and fast drying. We look before we clean, and we tell you which method we would use and why.

What is included?

A walk-through with you first, a thorough vacuum, treatment of spots and traffic lanes, the cleaning itself with the method that suits your carpet, and grooming so it dries evenly. If something looks like it will not come out, we tell you before we start.

The final clean after a dry-out

When carpet has been through a leak, a storm or a fire, drying it is only part of the job. Once the structure is dry, a deep cleaning removes the residue and odor the water or smoke left behind. If you have fresh water right now, start with water damage restoration. If floodwater from outside soaked the carpet, it usually has to be replaced rather than cleaned.

Pets, rugs, upholstery and drapes in the same visit

Pet accidents soak through the carpet into the pad, so a spot that looks small on top can be much bigger underneath. See pet stain and odor removal.

The same visit can cover area rugs (on site, or taken to the shop), upholstery, drapes cleaned right where they hang and tile and grout.

Homes, rentals and businesses

Offices, shops, waiting rooms and rental properties take heavy foot traffic. We schedule around your hours where we can, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, and we can clean between tenants so a unit is ready to show.

San Antonio prices are being confirmed and may change. We always confirm the price on site before any work starts.

How a carpet cleaning goes

  1. Walk-through

We walk the rooms with you, note the spots and traffic areas, and tell you what we expect to come out.

  2. Vacuum

A thorough vacuum pulls out the dry soil first, so the cleaning can reach what is deeper.

  3. Treat spots and traffic areas

Stains, pet spots and gray traffic lanes get attention before the main cleaning.

  4. Clean with the right method

Hot water extraction rinses heavy soil and pet spots out; low-moisture cleaning lifts routine soil with very little water.

  5. Groom and dry

We groom the fibers, set the room up to dry, and tell you when it is ready for furniture and foot traffic.

Common questions

Is sales tax included in your carpet cleaning prices?

No. Carpet cleaning is taxable in Texas, so every price we post is plus Texas sales tax, and the tax shows as its own line on your invoice.

Steam cleaning or low-moisture, which is better?

Both are good when they are matched to the carpet. Low-moisture cleaning dries in about 30 minutes to 2 hours and suits routine cleaning of most synthetic carpet. Hot water extraction dries in about 1 to 3 hours and is the pick for heavy soil and pet urine. We choose by the fiber and how dirty it is.

How long does carpet take to dry after cleaning?

Usually a few hours. Running your air conditioner and a ceiling fan helps, especially in the muggy months. We will tell you when it is fine to walk on and when to put furniture back.

Will cleaning make my carpet get dirty faster?

Not when it is rinsed properly. Carpet re-soils fast when cleaning residue is left behind, and rinsing it out is part of how we clean.

Is there a minimum?

Yes. Every job is at least $200, plus Texas sales tax. If your estimate comes out lower, it is priced at the minimum.
