What to do right now

A spill on the couch? Do this first.

  1. Blot, don't rub. Press a clean white towel on the spill and lift. Rubbing pushes it deeper and can fuzz the fabric.
  2. Check the tag before any cleaner. Look for the cleaning code under the cushions or on the frame. W means water-based cleaning is fine, S means solvent only, W-S means either, and X means vacuum only.
  3. Skip the peroxide sprays on pet spots. Sprays with hydrogen peroxide or "oxy" on the label can lighten the color for good.
  4. Don't soak it. Too much water can show through as rings or brown marks and reach the cushion foam, where it is slow to dry.
  5. Call or text us. Send a photo of the piece and its tag, and we will tell you what to expect.

Hot water extraction or low-moisture?

We offer both and pick by the fabric and how dirty it is. Low-moisture cleaning is our usual choice for most fabrics: a small amount of solution lifts the soil, very little water goes in, and the piece dries quickly. Hot water extraction rinses soil out with hot water and strong suction; it is the pick for sturdy, water-safe fabrics with heavy soil, body oils on arms and headrests, or pet accidents that need flushing out.

Before either, we test a hidden spot for colorfastness and shrinkage and read the cleaning code on the tag. If a piece is marked X, vacuum only, we tell you so rather than risk it.

Which fabrics need extra care?

Microfiber and polyester blends stand up to kids and pets and usually clean up well. Cotton and linen can shrink or brown if they get too wet, so they get a lighter touch. Velvet and chenille need their pile brushed as they dry. Wool blends and silk need the gentlest method and a careful test first.

Pets, kids and everyday wear

Arms and headrests collect body oils, cushions collect crumbs and spills, and pets leave hair and the odd accident. We vacuum first, treat the worst areas, then clean the whole piece so it dries evenly instead of leaving a clean patch on a dull cushion. Old pet urine can reach the foam, and we will tell you honestly whether cleaning will handle the odor.

After a leak or a fire

Smoke odor settles deep into cushions and can usually be cleaned out. Furniture soaked by floodwater from outside often cannot be saved safely, and we will tell you which pieces can. Start with fire and smoke damage or water damage restoration.

How an upholstery cleaning goes

  1. Look and test

We check the fabric, read the cleaning code and test a hidden spot for colorfastness and shrinkage.

  2. Vacuum

Crumbs, hair and dry soil come out first, including under the cushions.

  3. Treat the worst areas

Arms, headrests and spots get attention before the main cleaning.

  4. Clean with the right method

Low-moisture cleaning for most fabrics, hot water extraction for sturdy fabrics with heavy soil or pet accidents.

  5. Groom and dry

We brush the fabric, set up airflow and tell you when the piece is ready to use.

Common questions

How long until I can sit on it?

Usually within a couple of hours after low-moisture cleaning, longer after hot water extraction. A fan and the air conditioner help. We will tell you before we leave.

Can you clean a piece marked X or S?

X means vacuum only, and we will not wet-clean it. S means solvent cleaning only, and we will tell you on the spot whether we can clean it safely.

Will the stains come out?

Most everyday soil and many spots do. Stains set by heat, dye or an earlier cleaner may lighten without disappearing, and we point those out before we start.

Is sales tax included?

No. Cleaning furniture is taxable in Texas, so our prices are plus Texas sales tax.
