Why does the smell keep coming back?
Urine soaks through the carpet into the pad, and sometimes into the slab or subfloor underneath. A spot that looks small on top can be much bigger below, and that hidden part is where lingering odor comes from, especially in the muggy months.
We treat it at the depth it reached
- Surface treatment takes care of most cases: we treat the whole affected area before the main cleaning, not just the stain you can see.
- Subsurface flushing when urine has reached the pad, so it is rinsed out from below instead of covered up.
- Pad replacement and sealing the subfloor or slab in the worst cases, where urine has soaked the same area again and again.
We use hot water extraction for urine, because it rinses the area out. Low-moisture cleaning works on the top of the carpet and does not flush anything out.
What will you tell me up front?
Old urine can change the carpet's color for good, and no cleaning brings that back. We point out spots like that before we start, so you know what to expect.
Rugs and furniture too
Urine goes through a rug from front to back, so heavily affected rugs usually go to the shop to treat both sides. See area rug cleaning and upholstery cleaning.
What does it cost?
Pet treatment is part of a carpet cleaning, priced the same way: about $55 to $65 for a bedroom, or $0.55 per square foot, plus Texas sales tax. We look at the affected areas and confirm the final price on site, before any work starts. See pricing.
San Antonio prices are being confirmed and may change. We always confirm the price on site before any work starts.
